Originally registered through North Lanarkshire Council.  Since April 2002 a new national body, the CARE COMMISSION Scotland, has taken over the responsibility to regulate care services against national care standards and according to the requirements of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 and associated Regulations.

Craigard was last inspected by the CARE COMMISSION in November 2006. The 2005 inspection is available from the nursery for parents to take away and read. The 2006 inspection report is expected to be finalised by end of February 2007 and will be made available by the CARE COMMISSION online. Of the
14 areas or 'standards' which a centre is encouraged to pass, Craigard comfortably passed all areas being assessed and was duly re-registered.
